The Sumner Downtown Association has created a Tim
Hyland Memorial Fund at Heritage Bank, Sumner Branch, where donations can be
made for a downtown memorial project.
To make a donation, call (253) 671-0820, or mail your check payable to:
“Tim Hyland Memorial Fund”
to Heritage Bank
612 Harrison St., Sumner, WA 98390.
Upon receipt of the funds, a memoriam card will
be sent to the family in your name. If you wish to make the donation
anonymously, please include a note with instructions.
Based on conversations with the family, city and
community, it is the intent of the Downtown Association to utilize the funds for
a bench, bronze broom and bronze plaque honoring Tim’s service to Sumner. The
placement location in downtown will be determined in the coming months. We
currently anticipate a budget of $5,000 for the project.
Tim worked countless volunteer hours at many of
the downtown events and took great pride in his work at the city as Sumner’s
Sweeper. Sumner Downtown Association is pleased to be partnering with the City
of Sumner and the community on this project to honor Tim’s volunteer commitment
and love of Sumner.
