The 76th Annual Daffodil Festival Parade

April 4th, 2009
Starting at 2:30 p.m.

2009marks the 76th Annual Daffodil Festival. Started in 1933 as a tribute to the Puyallup Valley’s flower industry, the festival has grown to an annual event viewed by thousands.  The festival's Grand Floral Parade travels through the cities of Tacoma, Puyallup, Sumner and Orting, all in one day. Communities from all over Washington, Oregon and British Columbia, Canada, also participate in the parade. A notable annual participant in the parade every year is Sumner's own Sumner High School Marching Band, which has won many awards and represented the seven state Northwest region in the 1998 Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, California.

The Daffodil Festival is not just a parade - it is so much more. The Festival gives all of us the opportunity to get involved in our community, to help guide our youth and show them that we do care.
